There she was, shrouded in dust, grey from a mixture of dirt and shock. At that moment I realised that we were quite far from anywhere, which if your partner isn’t as tough as old boots, would be a massive problem.
In October this year, I finally made it back to the island and was blown away by what I found. The contrast to my previous visit was startling. The calmness and quiet that had settled over the island was incredible. But I don’t think the locals would agree.
The waves wash away your worries and the Bintang is just simply always there.
